The sun was shining, the breeze was light, and we had the perfect opportunity to take our e-bikes out for an adventure at Clark County Wetlands Park—and let us tell you, it did NOT disappoint!
We stopped in the nature center where we were kindly greeted and given a complete rundown of the park. We learned that bikes are not allowed in the nature preserve area. The nature preserve is for foot traffic only but not to worry, we jumped in our truck, exited the parking lot.and went less than a block to access the Wetlands trailhead which is for both foot and bike traffic.. We recommend stopping at the nature center to get the rundown and learn about the variety of activities offered.
From the moment we hit the paved trail, we were grinning from ear to ear. The twists and turns, the gentle hills, the wide-open spaces—it was everything we needed to soak up the sun and feel that rush of freedom.
If you’re picturing a dry, barren landscape, think again. This park is lush, filled with tall reeds, marshes, and trails that weave through a natural wetland habitat. It’s the largest park in the Clark County park system, covering 2,900 acres—which means there’s plenty of space to explore!
Our e-bikes made the ride smooth and effortless as we weaved through the paved trails, crossing over scenic bridges and stopping to take in the stunning views of the Las Vegas Wash. The park’s trails are perfect for all levels of riders—whether you want to take a leisurely ride or get a good workout in. We were pleasantly surprised to see groups of horses, motorcycles and ATVs throughout our ride.
Aside from being a fantastic spot for biking, Clark County Wetlands Park offers so much more:
- Wildlife Watching —This place is a haven for birds and other wildlife. We saw herons, ducks, and even some turtles sunbathing near the water. If you're lucky, you might even spot a coyote or a roadrunner zipping by.
- Paved and Unpaved Trails —Whether you're biking, hiking, or just taking a relaxing walk, the paved loops and dirt paths give you a variety of ways to explore the park.
- Nature Center & Exhibit Hall —A must-visit for learning more about the wetlands ecosystem. They have interactive exhibits, history about the area, and even guided nature walks.
- Picnic Areas & Shaded Benches —Perfect for taking a break, having a snack, and letting the kiddos enjoy the playgrounds.
- Photography Hotspot —With the mountains in the background, the shimmering water, and the abundance of wildlife, this park is a dream for photographers.
Tips:
- Trail Conditions: Ensure your e-bike is suitable for both paved and unpaved sections, as some parts of the trail may vary in surface quality.
- Amenities: Facilities such as restrooms and picnic areas are available at various trailheads, including Terrazza Park.
- Safety: Always wear a helmet, carry sufficient water, and be mindful of local wildlife and other trail users.
- Protect Your Skin: This is the desert and the sun is bright! Be sure to protect your skin by wearing sun screen.
