We launched our 2024 Summer RV Journey with a 3 night stay at Manatee Cove RV Park, which is located at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, FL.
We stayed 3 nights at site 41. The check in process was a little confusing this time, (its our second visit). According to the website, the office was closed on Sunday's, but it was not. The office is located on the corner of Jason St. and Birmingham Avenue, which we passed by and went straight to the campground because we thought it was closed.
Once we arrived at the park, we easily checked in with the camp host, Rachel, as you will see in the video. They did text us prior to our arrival to get an estimated arrival time. Check-in and check-out are at 11:00 am.
The reservation process is easy call: 904-542-1470.
The park has 39 full hookups Wifi is free and is just okay, it worked fine on the phone but didn't hold up for streaming on our Roku TV.
Laundry is FREE yes, both washers and dryers are free. The bath house is well maintained and that is always a good sign.
While camping at Manatee Cove, you have access to the golf course, fitness facilities, bowling center, pools, bingo, marina, and restaurants. We even got coupons in our welcome kit, as you will see in the video. There is a screened-in sitting area, which is also shared in the video, and you can catch a beautiful view of the river from the park.
BBQ grills are allowed, but not campfires at this time.
The maximum stay at this campground is 180 days. Once you reach 180 days, you must leave the park for 4 months. Reservations can be made one year in advance for active military, and all others can make reservations 6 months in advance.
The post office will not deliver mail to people who are camping, the park office will accept packages from FEDEX and UPS.
Pets are allowed but must remain on a leash.
We enjoyed 3 short days, mostly getting used to being back in Big Baby once again and resting up for the adventures ahead.
