On Thursday, June 15, we left Pelican Roost RV Park and headed to Saint Augustine RV Resort. The heavy storms made us backtrack and cancel our plans to go to Savannah, GA.
Nestled conveniently at the intersection of I-95 and Route 207, this resort offers a tranquil escape with its 140 spacious campsites. In this blog post, we'll share our experience and why we highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting the St. Augustine area.
Warm Welcome and Personalized Service: From the moment we arrived at the resort, we were greeted with a warm welcome at the office. The staff was friendly and accommodating, allowing us to select our desired site. They provided us with a helpful packet of information about St. Augustine and a park map complete with the wifi code, which worked flawlessly during our stay. While we appreciated the convenience, it would have been beneficial to have a set of resort rules included as well.
Thoughtful Amenities and Facilities:The clubhouse and restroom/shower area were easily accessible using the provided fob. It's worth noting that a $10 charge would be added to our bill if the fob wasn't returned upon departure, but a convenient dropbox was available for early check-outs. The RV sites at the resort were spacious and accommodating to large rigs, comfortably accommodating our vehicles, "Lil Baby" and "Big Baby."
Impeccable Renovations and Scenic Beauty:One of the standout features of the resort was its newly renovated facilities and stunning landscaping. The clubhouse exuded a fresh ambiance, with a delightful new smell and tasteful decorations. It boasted several cozy seating areas, perfect for relaxing or socializing, and even offered a small library for book enthusiasts. The restrooms and shower house were impressively clean and beautifully maintained, ensuring a pleasant experience.
Recreational Activities for Everyone:St. Augustine RV Resort caters to various interests and preferences. Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the gym although it is small it has enough to get the job done, while nature lovers can take advantage of the long walking path that stretches across the lake in front of the park. The pool provided a refreshing oasis, although considering the park's size, it could be considered relatively small. For those seeking outdoor activities, the resort features a nicely maintained Bocci court and three firepits, perfect for friendly competitions and cozy evenings.
There is a dog park available not far from the club house and pool.
Convenient Services and Local Explorations:Despite the slightly higher park fee, treating ourselves to a higher-end resort like this was well worth it. In addition to the exceptional amenities, St. Augustine RV Resort offers the convenience of Old Town Trolley Tour tickets in their office. This allows guests to explore downtown St. Augustine without the hassle of traffic. The trolley conveniently picks you up in the morning and returns you to the resort in the late afternoon, ensuring a stress-free and enjoyable experience.
Exploring St. Augustine:While we decided to skip downtown St. Augustine during this visit, having explored it in 2021, we did make a stop at the Fort Mose Historic State Park Visitors Center. This intriguing destination deserves its own dedicated post, which we'll be linking here as soon as it's available.
If you find yourself in the St. Augustine area, we wholeheartedly recommend St. Augustine RV Resort for a luxurious and serene getaway. With its welcoming atmosphere, exceptional amenities, and convenient services, this resort provides an unforgettable experience for all RV enthusiasts.
